March 17, 2002 Meeting Minutes
Recorded by faithful secretary Matthew Warner and Ralph Bieber
Reaching critical mass once again, the Baltimore/Washington
Chapter rematerialized at Brian Keene Manor on March 17,
and promptly filled the place with the din of its evil
machinations:
- Pending the blessings of the Elder Gods, a 16-foot
dealer table at Horrorfind Weekend II will be at the
disposal of our chapter, the NY Chapter and the Garden
State Horror Writers. With 6,000 expected attendees, wed
be damned fools not to take advantage of it.
- Our chapter anthology will be funded in part by a
raffle, organized by Joel Jacobs, at the Horrorfind
Weekend. Possible raffle prizes will include autographed
novels and an autographed picture of Will Ludwigsens ass.
Tickets will be $1 for 1, $2 for 3, and $5 for an arms
length.
- We will host a short story contest, entries to be judged
by chapter members. Matt Warner will keep his hand over
the bylines as he reads. The author of the winning story
will be paid a pro rate and be posted on our website. A
small reading fee will go towards our anthology fund.
- We welcomed a number of new people to this meeting--Lee
Cushing, Brian Freeman, Jacob Haddon, Arthur
Hondros--(their scars are reportedly healing nicely), and
bid fond farewell to Will Ludwigsen, who is going to spread
our germs to the Florida chapter. Will, however, remains a
honorary lifetime member of the Baltimore/Washington
chapter, and has volunteered to stay on as our much-abused
webmaster. Thanks, Will!
- Upcoming member appearances include: A.B Wallace and
Ralph Bieber at Emerging Literary Voices 2002 (March 23 &
24 in Pittsburgh, PA); Will Ludwigsen at Oasis 15 (May 24,
25, & 26 in Orlando, FL); and assorted dark lords of the
underworld at WHC2002.
