The Dallas-Ft.
Worth Chapter of the Horror Writers Association (DFW
HWA) began to take shape in October 2003. Conversations
between HWA members via e-mail and at local signings
resulted in the organization of a local chapter. Our current regional area covers North Texas, East Texas, and Oklahoma.
The DFW HWA
exists to raise local awareness of quality horror fiction,
and to support HWA member events in the form of advertisment,
networking, and general encouragement. The local chapter
is composed of members of the Horror Writers Association
(HWA).
HWA formed
in the late 1980s with the help of many of the field's
greats, including Dean Koontz, Robert McCammon, and
Joe Lansdale. Today, with over 500 members around
the globe, it is the oldest and most respected professional
organization for the much-loved writers who bring you
the most enjoyable sleepless nights of your life. For
