HWA SFV – MINUTES OF OCTOBER MEETING
The meeting
was held on Sunday,
The first item of business was discussion of minutes from the September meeting, and discussion of results of the mixer (held in September). The mixer included approximately 15 guests, and we added 5 names to the mailing list for HWA SFV events, so it was agreed that the mixer was successful.
We discussed business from the parent organization, including the elections, the upcoming World Horror Convention/2007 Stoker Awards liaison, the upcoming “Horror Day” (October 13th), and some announcements of upcoming events sponsored by HWA LA.
We closed the meeting with a discussion of members activities:
John Palisano
is heading east to
entitled Nerves.
Jon Torres is working on some short fiction.
Joey O’Bryan is writing a
Thai/Chinese kung fu movie, and talking to
directing his spec script Means to an End. He’s also finishing up a horror spec script.
Del Howison is waiting for the contracts on the Dark Delicacies 2 anthology, and is shopping another anthology idea. He’s also starting a Western novel.
Lisa Morton just finished her novel The Castle of Los Angeles, and has submitted it to a small press publisher; she’s now working on some short fiction.
Lisa ? is working on rewrites with
the production company that has optioned her horror screenplay, which is based
on Haitian folklore.
