HWA SFV was founded in March 2006, by co-organizers Lisa Morton and John Palisano. Our mission is to provide HWA members in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys with the camaraderie and support of a local chapter, and to serve as a direct conduit to the HWA. We hold monthly meetings on the first Sunday evening of each month, and we invite both HWA members and non-HWA members to attend (although the latter may not participate in chapter decision making). At our meetings we typically discuss business from both the parent organization and the chapter, we chat about possible future doings, we trade tips and suggestions, share our current successes (and mourn our defeats), and discuss a previously-selected writing topic. In September of 2006 we held our first mixer, which we hope to make an annual affair. E-mail Lisa for further information. We're planning for a number of future events, including convention and trade show appearances, guest speakers at our meetings, and our own brochure.
