Simon Clark

Born in 1958
Lives in Doncaster, South Yorkshire

"I've been writing stories for as long as I can remember, before that I made up tall stories for friends, relatives -- anyone who'd stand still long enough to listen. My first short stories appeared on local radio and in the small press. What seemed my first real break through was when the late Karl Wagner picked up a story of mine, Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea, for The Year's Best Horror XIV published by DAW; after that, came a collection Blood & Grit (BBR Books, 1990).

Since then I've contributed many stories to magazines and anthologies, written prose material for the rock band U2 and reviewed for SFX and Starburst. Hodder and Stoughton published my first novel, Nailed By The Heart in 1995. Subsequent novels include Blood Crazy, The Fall, Darkness Demands, The Night of the Triffids and Stranger. Also miscellaneous stuff for BBC television and radio, and nervously giving talks in maximum security prisons."
