Begin the application process by filling out the form below.
When you have completed the form, click "Submit" to continue. Your
application will automatically be sent to HWA's Membership Chairman, and your
screen will refresh with a confirmation page containing
instructions needed to complete the process.
NOTE: If you have not read HWA's Membership Rules yet,
please do so before applying. All levels of HWA membership require
the applicant to establish specific qualifications. Those applying
for Associate membership must demonstrate earned income from
nonwriting activities related to horror. Applicants for Affiliate
or Active status must list qualifying credentials (dates, titles,
publishers, fiction or nonfiction, whether these were books,
stories, screenplays, etc.). If further verification of your
credentials is necessary, you'll be contacted by our Membership Chairman.
ALSO NOTE: To complete your online application, you'll be asked
to pay a non-refundable application fee of $5. If your application
is approved, this fee will be credited toward the cost of your
membership. It can take up to eight weeks to process your application.
