THE BRAM STOKER AWARDS® WEEKEND 2013
INCORPORATING
WORLD HORROR CONVENTION
The traditional mass signing will take place in the Royal Room on Friday evening.Below is the schedule for all those at the Mass Signing. If you are signing it is important you read the following information.
Schedule
Please note we intend to stick to these times but a final schedule will be provided at Registration. There are three groups: Guests signing between 7-9pm, and others signing either from 7-8pm or 8-9pm.
Those signing from 7-8pm will be asked to begin vacating the room at 7.55pm to allow new name cards to be distributed. If you are in conversation or signing at that time please proceed outside the room promptly to complete that business.
Selling Books in the Room
The HWA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We have received a ruling from the IRS, which in simple terms means a room, booth or table paid for by the HWA (as is the case with the Mass Signing Room) cannot be directly used for commercial purposes, such as authors (whether or not they are HWA members) selling books. The get-around for this is that sales are permissible if a donation is made to the HWA - donations go into our Hardship Fund. If you choose to sell books in the Mass Signing Room you will be expected to donate 20% of sales to the HWA Hardship Fund (as is the case with all HWA functions where books are sold from venues we pay for). We will operate an honesty system. As soon as possible after the Convention we ask that you write to the Treasurer via treasurer@horror.org declaring the amount of monies you owe. You can pay either be sending a check made out to the Horror Writers Association, 244 5th Ave., Suite 2767, New York, NY 10001 or via Paypal to treasurer@horror.org (if using Paypal please label your donation). Please note that ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE for US taxpayers and receipts will be issued. - Rocky Wood, President, HWA
