What kind of activities are available through New England Horror Writers?
At a minimum, we try to schedule a NEHW social event at least once per month. These events typically take place at a restaurant for either lunch or dinner. We vary the locations throughout New England. NEHW also tries to schedule group book signings, readings, and panel discussions at booksellers, libraries, and book / genre conventions.

Any member of New England Horror Writers can organize a social event, group signing, library panel, or any other NEHW activity. In these instances, please contact the co-chairs, since they primarily help with communicating details and deadlines to the rest of NEHW.

Does New England Horror Writers have elected officers or a formalized committees?

If I'm in New England Horror Writers, does that mean I'm a member of the HWA?
No. While NEHW does have ties to the Horror Writers Association (HWA), in order to become a member of that organization, you will need to contact the HWA directly. Please keep in mind that, to become a member of the HWA you must meet their membership requirements and have your annual dues paid in full. One of New England Horror Writers’ goals is to help new authors gain the experience they need to qualify for membership in the HWA. For more information on the HWA, go here.

I'm already a member of the New England Horror Writers. How do I update my information on the website?
Send all updates to information found on this website to the webmaster.

I notice that people are promoting upcoming books on the News Blog. How do I do that?
If you have a new book coming out, please send a brief synopsis (a paragraph or two), the publisher and purchase information, and a jpg of the book’s cover to L. L. Soares for inclusion in the News Blog.

How do I organize an NEHW event?
Usually, it's pretty easy, but that depends on the type of the event and the venue. If it's just a basic NEHW social event, this requires little more than you making a reservation at a restaurant or just letting us know where you want people to meet. Just make sure to email Dan Keohane with details (location, date, time), so that the event can be confirmed and we can let everyone know. Meanwhile, organizing a NEHW presence at a convention or industry event will usually require a little more footwork.

Regardless, we're always eager to hear your ideas and suggestions regarding NEHW activities!
